History
NALLIKARI SNOW FEST 2025 is an international snow sculpting event aimed at bringing sculptors from around the world to Nallikari in Oulu, Finland. This cultural tourism event showcases the creation of snow art for everyone to enjoy, while also highlighting the diverse possibilities of snow as a medium for art, culture, and tourism.
This public-friendly snow sculpting event is being held for the fifth time. The idea for organizing the first international, public-friendly snow sculpting event arose from the success of the snow sculpting competitions held in the two previous years. The competitions, held in February 2018 and 2019, were a great success.
Both events attracted large audiences after the competition. Thousands of visitors from Finland and abroad visited the Snow Art Park during the late winter months to admire and photograph the snow sculptures. The Snow Art Park drew a diverse audience, from babies to grandparents, individuals to families and groups, including local residents from the Oulu area as well as domestic and international tourists. In both years, the impressive sculptures brought many visitors back again and again – even in the evenings, thanks to the lighting designed in collaboration with the Lumo Light Festival. The event's confirmed media visibility reached 6 million views in 2019.
The goal is to grow Nallikari Snow Fest into one of Oulu's most attractive events. Snow Fest is part of the Oulu2026 program.
